Ecosystem Engagement

At CoLab, we believe that solving complex development challenges requires more than strong programs; it requires strong ecosystems. Our ecosystem engagement initiatives are designed to foster collaboration, learning, and collective action among organisations, researchers, and funders.

What Is Ecosystem Engagement?

Ecosystem engagement is about connecting the dots — between data and dialogue, between research and action, and between organisations working toward similar goals. It’s how we build shared understanding and sectoral capacity so that evidence becomes everyone’s language.

Through our ecosystem work, we aim to:

Build communities that learn and grow together.

Make evidence accessible, understandable, and actionable.

Enable collaboration across boundaries and disciplines.

Our Ecosystem Initiatives

CoLab Commons

A digital knowledge hub that hosts open-access resources, tools, and reflections from across CoLab’s projects and partnerships. It’s where practitioners can access ready-to-use frameworks, learn from case studies, and adapt tools for their contexts.

The Commons is designed to democratize learning, one insight at a time.

Evidence Community
of Practice (CoP)

A living network of practitioners, researchers, and ecosystem builders who share a common purpose: to strengthen evidence use in India’s development sector.

The CoP facilitates

Peer Learning: Regular dialogues and roundtables on evidence-based practice.

Collaborative Research: Co-created studies addressing shared challenges.

Sectoral Events: Spaces to exchange insights and co-design solutions (e.g., Shiksha Samvaad – Evidence Edition).

The Evidence CoP is not just a forum; it’s a movement towards more reflective, data-informed development.

Evidence Community of Practice

The Evidence Community of Practice (CoP), facilitated by CoLab, Simple Education Foundation, and Penn State University, is an innovative initiative aimed at a global community committed to achieving educational equity through evidence-informed practices. This community will serve as a dynamic platform where a diverse range of stakeholders – including researchers, educators, policymakers, government officials, funders and practitioners – collaborate, generate new knowledge, share insights and co-create solutions to address educational challenges, particularly in the global south.
