Framing Effective Indicators
Workshop Details
Workshop Overview
This workshop introduces systematic frameworks and practical methodologies for designing and refining program indicators. Moving beyond ad hoc approaches, participants will learn to develop indicators that are clear, measurable, and aligned with program goals.
Drawing on major indicator design frameworks, the session will explore how to frame indicators with clarity, draft them effectively, and strengthen poorly framed ones using SMART criteria. Through practical examples and interactive exercises, participants develop hands-on skills for setting evidence-based baselines, targets, and timelines, and for monitoring and adapting indicators in real-world contexts.
Workshop Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Understand major frameworks for indicator design.
- Dive deep into 2 major frameworks of indicator design.
- Develop the skills to frame, draft, and refine indicators that are effective for programs.
- Identify gaps in poorly framed indicators and their gaps.
- Establish practical approaches for setting indicators in baselines, targets, and timelines.
