We maintain a curated collection of sample research and evaluation reports that reflect our approach to inquiry, analysis, and storytelling. These reports demonstrate how evidence can be transformed into practical, actionable insights.
Research produced by the CoLab team, exploring themes across education, gender, climate resilience, community engagement, and program design. Each paper blends rigorous methodology with field insights, offering fresh perspectives and new knowledge for the development sector. These papers reflect our commitment to contributing to the ecosystem’s understanding of what works and why.

In-depth stories that trace how CoLab supported organisations to tackle complex problems and strengthen their programs. These case studies offer a behind-the-scenes view into our process, from understanding a challenge, to designing solutions, testing prototypes, gathering evidence, and achieving outcomes at scale. They are meant to inspire practitioners who are looking to deepen impact through structured, evidence-informed approaches.
Short, reflective pieces from our team on learnings from the field, emerging questions, design experiments, and stories that often don’t make it into formal reports. The blog is a space where we share ideas in progress and spark conversations around evidence, design, implementation, and innovation.

CoLab led an end-to-end impact evaluation of an early childhood intervention programme focused on improving school readiness. Spanning data collection through to final reporting, the assessment gave the implementing organization a clear, evidence-based understanding of programme effectiveness — translating findings into actionable improvements in design and delivery.
CoLab conducted a research study documenting innovative best practices developed by Block Education Officers working to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy in government schools. By capturing evidence of ground-level leadership driving large-scale learning improvements, the study demonstrated how decentralized initiative — supported by state and organizational partners — can meaningfully advance national education goals.
CoLab conducted an external evaluation of motor training for women, examining its impact across social, attitudinal, and life skills dimensions. The evaluation assessed how driving training and road safety education affected women’s confidence, mobility, and attitudes toward gender equality — capturing the centre’s broader role in driving personal and social transformation among participants.
CoLab conducted secondary research and data analysis to map the distribution of children facing overlapping adversities across districts. By shifting the conversation from anecdotal to evidence-based, the work enabled partners and policymakers to identify high-risk areas and design more targeted, risk-sensitive programmes — strengthening both planning and advocacy for the most vulnerable children.
CoLab designed a comprehensive sprint-based workshop package for global partners across sectors, developing full session plans, presentation decks, and facilitation resources. The package standardised delivery across diverse contexts, ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation and enabling the programme to scale effectively beyond the core team.
CoLab developed a comprehensive Project-Based Learning toolkit equipping NGOs and policymakers with the resources needed to conceptualise, design, and implement PBL programmes at scale. The toolkit serves as a practical, end-to-end guide — enabling diverse stakeholders to adopt and deliver PBL with clarity and confidence.
CoLab created a detailed handbook supporting stakeholders in designing and delivering women’s empowerment projects. Covering everything from holding spaces for young women to identifying and collaborating with partners, the handbook brings together a range of practical resources — including checklists, reusable session plans, and action planning templates — to guide implementers at every stage.
CoLab provided strategic consultation to support an organisation in revisiting their Logical Framework Analysis and building a robust Monitoring & Evaluation framework for implementation at scale. The engagement combined programme design thinking with practical M&E tools — equipping the organisation with a clearer strategic direction and the systems needed to deliver and measure impact at scale.
CoLab designed and facilitated a series of bootcamps to build organisational capacity in programme design and implementation at scale. Combining robust co-creation with structured post-work, the bootcamps equipped teams with the knowledge and tools to design, implement, and think strategically at scale.
CoLab provides ongoing fortnightly capacity-building sessions covering a range of topics — from tool design to participatory evaluation methods — offering practitioner-friendly practices to strengthen research and design in organisations.
CoLab partnered with an organisation to strengthen the capacity of Programme Managers in mentoring fellows to design impactful, scalable projects. Through a baseline assessment and a tailored series of workshops, CoLab built core competencies across programme design, situation analysis, M&E framework development, tool design, and scale and sustainability — enabling fellows to ground their social innovation projects in evidence and structured thinking.
